Arrival & Check-in
Check-in Time: Between 14:00 and 20:00.
Late Arrivals: Arrivals after 20:00 will incur an additional fee of R100 per hour, payable in cash upon arrival.
Key Collection: Keys must be collected at Buffalo Chalets, or you can contact the host directly for confirmation.
Payments: The chalets are prepaid, and guests are responsible for all costs.
Only EFT or cash payments are accepted on arrival.
Additional Guests: Any extra persons not included in your original inquiry and booking confirmation will be charged an extra fee.
Security & Cleanliness Deposits
Breakage & Key Deposit: A deposit of R1 000 per chalet is required. This can be paid in cash upon arrival or via EFT into the host's account.
Deposit Refunds: If paid via EFT, the deposit will be refunded approximately 2 weeks after departure, following an inventory check. Please forward your banking details to the host for the refund.
Acceptable Condition: The deposit will only be refunded if the chalet is left in a tidy and acceptable condition. To avoid a R250 cleaning deduction from your deposit, all dishes, pots, pans, and cutlery must be washed and packed away before you leave.
Chalet Policies & What to Bring
Cleaning Service: Chalets are serviced before arrival, but are not serviced on a daily basis. A daily cleaning service can be arranged in advance for an additional cost.
What to Bring: Please bring your own swimming towels, braai wood, or charcoal, as well as your own extra toilet paper (only 2 rolls are provided per bathroom).
Braai Areas: The braai area will be cleaned on a daily basis, free of charge. Please ensure all fires are fully extinguished after use.
Pets: Strictly no pets allowed.
Marloth Park Rules & Wildlife Regulations
Marloth Park is a nature conservation area and not a party venue. Strict municipal bylaws are in place to protect the local ecosystem and ensure peace for residents and wildlife.
Noise & Quiet Hours: Loud music, shouting, loud conversations, and excessive noise are prohibited at all times. Strict quiet hours are enforced between 18:00 and 06:00. Noise complaints carry heavy penalties ranging from R500 to R3 500 per call-out, and multiple complaints will lead to immediate eviction by local security or SAPS.
Curfew & Road Safety: For your safety and the safety of the wildlife, no walking, cycling, or jogging is permitted on the roads between sunset and sunrise (18:00 to 06:00).
Speed Limits: The speed limit is 30 km/h on dirt roads and 50 km/h on tarred roads. No unlicensed drivers and no drinking and driving are permitted.
Environmental Bans: Fireworks, drones, and spotlights (which disturb animals and neighbours) are strictly forbidden. No chopping of trees, removal of vegetation, or open fires in the field is allowed.
Wildlife Protection: Do not stroke, handle, or feed wild animals strange or unhealthy food (only approved pellets are allowed). Loud noises alter natural breeding patterns and frighten the animals.
Waste Management: Littering is prohibited. Please take your rubbish in black bags to the assigned dumping sites.
Safety & Security: Keep all firearms in a secure place. Please lock all doors and windows when you are away from the chalet, and lock any doors you cannot keep an eye on while at home.
