Romantic, off-grid luxury retreat with unforgettable views and comfort. With so many properties to choose from in the Western Cape, it’s tempting to try somewhere new each time you plan a getaway. But this is one of those rare places that makes you want to linger longer — and return again and again. In fact, we booked our second stay the day after arriving home from our first two-night visit. Set in breathtaking surroundings with truly magnificent views, this property is something special. The lack of electricity takes anywhere from five minutes to an hour to adjust to (and there is cell phone signal), but it quickly becomes part of the charm. Everything you need for a romantic escape is here: oil lamps and candles throughout, the satisfying ritual of lighting the fire for the hot tub, heating the water tank, and cooking on the gas hob or braai. It’s rustic, yet deeply comfortable — from the dining area and sofa to the wonderfully inviting bed. The oversized bathtub and rainfall-style shower are highlights. About 20 minutes after lighting the donkey fire, you’re rewarded with reliably piping hot water, and the shower temperature is easy to control. It’s a place you can enjoy in any season, in any weather. With a beautifully equipped kitchen and complete privacy, it’s hard to imagine wanting anything more.

Rus en vrede vir jou siel. Ons het ons baie geniet, dis skoon en mooi nagekyk. Die donkie stook is 'n hoogtepunt. Omring deur immergroen lande. Sal, as dit God se wil is, weer gaan kuier.

Wat 'n voorreg om weer soos 'n kind te kon voel tussen al die plaasdiere! Baie lekker gebly. Was soveel pret om die kinders bietjie meer blootstelling te gee van die plaaslewe. Ook lekker om vir al die 'girls' te wys dat mens wel kan oorleef sonder WiFi. Pieter was ook dadelik daar om ons te help. Sou so graag langer wou bly!

To repeat this visit as often as possible! An incredible experience! In the middle of nature, no traffic, long walks and fresh air. Somewhere to stay for as long as you can! Stunningly private and incredibly well-kept property.

Die swembadjie en die views. Wow! Asemrowende kombinasie. So lekker gekuier daar dat ons sommer nog een aand ekstra gebly het. Die bottel wyn, beskuit en plaasvars melk was groot bederf. Ons hondjie het die grasperk verskriklik geniet ook. Gaan beslis weer daar boek.
