Great. The stay was great, the hotel is clean, good friendly staff, they organised a picnic for us and horse riding outside their premises.

Enjoyed the stay but had a few issues that distracted from the overall pleasure. Beautiful venue, loved the pond and the trees. I loved the bath. I appreciated that we could check in earlier. I would definitely stay again. I do, however, have a few critical comments. The service in the dining area is very slow. The fact that the toilet is visible from the glass doors means having to close the curtains in order to have privacy. A screen might be a good option. The fake side table drawer was frustrating as the bedside table is small and it would have been great to be able to put items into a real drawer. I complained about my medium eggs being well done and my plate was returned to me within a few minutes with what looked like exactly the same eggs. The fact that the king size bed is standard length for the price of the accommodation was disappointing. I would have appreciated drawers to pack my underwear and foldable clothes.

Anniversary weekend away. The beautiful, quaint 10-room hotel's setting next to the dam is tranquil. We enjoyed the friendly staff, breakfasts and accommodation. We really enjoyed our stay at Dunkeld East Hotel. Things that could be improved on and that did dampen our trip were the following: The toilet in the room has no door or frosted glass. I have been married for 34 years, and there are still things that are not okay to do in front of one's partner. It would be easy to put a door fitting on the glass to give some privacy in the toilet. Then the outside door lock broke off on the first night of arrival. We reported it at 18:30 and handed them the broken lock. They called Maintenance, but by 21:30, they had still not arrived to fix the lock. As it self-locked, we could not get into the room after dinner. The staff then had to break into the room so we could sleep, and they promised to fix it the next day. The next day we went to Dullstroom for the day and had dinner at the Vine. We returned at 9 pm to find the reception locked up and the room lock unfixed. There was nobody around to ask for help. We could not get into the room to sleep, and after trying to get in through the toilet window (to no avail), we had to break open the door, as they had shown us the night before. Luckily, we got in so we could sleep and get our possessions.

Baie mooi, skoon akkommodasie. Akkommodasie baie mooi. Ons het net een aand oorgeslaap en dus nie enigiets saamgebring nie. Eers te laat agtergekom daar is geen koffie in die huis nie. Daar was ook geen kagelhout nie.

Peaceful, ideal for couples retreat. My husband and I had a wonderful stay at Dunkeld East Hotel for our anniversary. The hotel is conveniently located close to town, making it easy to enjoy dinner out while still staying nearby. The staff were exceptionally friendly and accommodating, which made our experience even more enjoyable. The tranquil setting, with its variety of bird calls - especially the frequent call of the fish eagle - truly completed a peaceful and memorable stay.

Hidden gem. Stay was amazing after a very long day. Staff accommodated me with dinner even after the kitchen had already closed. The fireplace in the room and the electric blanket on the bed were just what I needed on that bitterly cold night.
