Nestled in the Nougaspoort Valley, roughly 30 km from Touws River, Gecko Rock Private Nature Reserve offers guests an eco-adventure destination and an adventurous outdoor experience in the South African Karoo.
The De Wet Rus campsites offer guests the choice between 7 campsites accommodating from 2 to 6 guests on a site. The sites are situated in shaded areas and feature bathroom facilities for guests to share.
Guests are required to bring their own braai wood, firelighters, matches, a torch, enough petrol as the nearest petrol station is 30 km away in Touws River, toilet paper, black garbage bags, bath towels, binoculars, clothes for warm and cold weather, toiletries, a first aid kit, and insect repellent.
Guests can enjoy the reserve views, stars, days and days of hiking, mountain biking, rock climbing, photography, and 4x4 trails; or simply just sit in the shade with a good book or your favourite drink.
There are various activities on offer, where the emphasis is on the preservation of the environment. The list includes 4x4 and 2x4 routes, as well as 4x4 and 2x4 driver training, customised team-building events and conference facilities, flower and succulent tours, bird-watching, and star-gazing.
