Description

Gifberg Holiday Farm is a rustic and tranquil resort located 29 km from Vanrhynsdorp in the Western Cape. Perched atop the scenic Gifberg Mountains, this farm is the ideal destination for nature lovers seeking a peaceful escape amidst the unique landscapes of Namaqualand.

Accommodation is provided in a variety of self-catering homes, each boasting its own unique location and character. All units feature well-equipped kitchens and private braai facilities to ensure a comfortable stay.

The farm is a paradise for hikers, with trails leading to various San rock art sites and spectacular rock formations. During these walks, guests can discover the wonders of the local flora—including seasonal wildflowers—and swim in refreshing natural rock pools. The property also features a dramatic watercourse often described as a smaller version of the Fish River Canyon.

Access to the guest farm is via a 29 km scenic gravel road that winds up a beautiful mountain pass. While a 4x4 is not required, a vehicle with good ground clearance is recommended rather than a low sedan, especially following rainfall. The drive offers breathtaking views, making the journey an integral part of the Gifberg experience.

The farm is situated within a 60 km radius of the town of Klawer and the world-renowned wildflower displays of the Namaqua National Park during the spring season.
