Peaceful and relaxing but concerns for injury. Super cool location close to Harties and other tourist spots. Really peaceful and visits from the farm animals were a lovely surprise. When we arrived there, we were placed in a tent and then relocated to another, but the latter was not prepped for a night stay as we had seen with the first one. This was disappointing, but we made do. A word of warning though to those visiting in the rainy season: the cabin steps at the tent were especially slippery, which led to a couple of slips and a fall, which is especially concerning seeing as there is a ridge about a step away from the front of the cabin. Putting up a railing on the wooden steps leading down to the riverside would also ease the mind.

We’re pleased to hear that you enjoyed the peaceful setting, the convenient location near Harties and surrounding attractions, and the surprise visits from the farm animals — those are special touches we love our guests to experience. We do apologise for the inconvenience regarding the tent relocation and that the second unit was not prepared to the same standard on arrival. This is not usually the case as the tents are prepared as reservations are confirmed as we need to store some of the outside equipment indoors. Your safety feedback is especially important to us. During the rainy season, wooden steps can indeed become slippery. We appreciate you raising this concern, particularly regarding the proximity to the ridge. We are reviewing additional safety measures, including improved grip solutions and the possibility of adding a railing to enhance stability and peace of mind. We are sorry to hear that your experience did not meet your expectations. Regarding the lock, this should certainly have been properly addressed before your arrival. Even though our property is situated in a very safe and controlled environment, we understand that feeling secure — especially as a solo guest — is essential. We have since ensured that all tent units are checked for working locks as part of our arrival preparation. We also take your comments about cleanliness and utensils seriously. This is not the standard we aim to maintain, and we have reinforced our housekeeping checks to ensure that all items are thoroughly cleaned and inspected. Our tented units are rustic, farm-style accommodation, and while many guests enjoy the authentic outdoor experience, we understand that it may feel more exposed than expected, particularly at night. We are currently reviewing additional lighting solutions along pathways to improve nighttime comfort and visibility. Was 'n baie rustige en lekker naweek gewees. Dit was baie lekker rustig gewees die naweek, baie mooi uitsig op die rivier. Alles is mooi skoon daarso. Was lekker koud in die aand gewees, maar hulle het elektriese komberse gehad in die tente wat ons lekker warm gehou het. Sal vir seker weer kom kuier.

Clean, helpful, amazing, safe and calm. We had an amazing stay at Jackal Cry River View Tent. Pamela and Best were the stars of the show. We felt like VIPs with security patrolling all day and night! Ice and charcoal available with just a phone call. The dogs had a ball and would recommend it to anyone!

Loved the place. WiFi should be available to visitors. A notice to close up the place when you leave it should be put up as the monkeys loved our bread LOL.

Thanks for the review, Bianca. As part of the indemnity that guests sign, we provide all the details and warnings about the monkeys. WiFi is not mentioned as an amenity we have when you book. We want guests to disconnect from technology when they visit us. We will find ways to improve on the warning signs related to the monkeys.

Omvou deur die natuurskoon. Net 'n paar klein goedjies om aan te dink. Groot asblikke. Daaglikse skoonmaak van die braaier. Skoonmaak van die swembad. 'n Skotteltjie vir skottelgoed, want dit is moeilik om vetterige goed te was.
