Comfortable, peaceful and attention to detail in place. Thoroughly enjoyed this peaceful haven. Beautiful surroundings and just enough space for our doggies to explore. Lovely comfortable stay. Will definitely return.

Peaceful, cosy, convenient special gem. We had a truly wonderful Easter weekend stay at Desert Rose. The setting is absolutely beautiful, surrounded by mountains with a peaceful dam where we even caught some bass. The cabin itself is spotless, comfortable, and thoughtfully equipped with everything you need—perfect for a relaxing, easy getaway. What really stood out were the special touches from the host: a chocolate Easter bunny for our son on arrival, and sweet extras for our dog including a bed, bowls, and treats. Being pet-friendly with a fenced area around the cabin made it completely stress-free. The space feels private and tranquil, with bush all around, yet the host is readily available if needed. We loved the hot tub, spacious bathroom with a stunning freestanding bath, and the well-set-up braai area (with wood provided). Montagu is just a short 15–20 minute drive away if you feel like exploring. A peaceful, family-friendly escape—we’d absolutely recommend it.

Fantasties! Tweede keer wat ons in King Protea gebly het. Dis regtig 'n paradys. Mooiste uitsig, pragtige sterre in die nag. Huisie is ruim en pragtig toegerus en ons honde het dit net so geniet!

King Protea was a lovely cottage. Very peaceful and overlooked the mountains. We absolutely loved our stay. So beautiful, peaceful and private. Very clean. Will definitely be back!

Fantasties! Ons kom beslis terug! Ons het ’n absoluut wonderlike verblyf gehad. Die huis is privaat, pragtig opgeknap en bied die mooiste uitsig oor die berge. Ons honde het die groen grasperk met baie spasie geniet om te speel, en ons het dit ook geniet om saam met hulle te gaan stap en na die nabygeleë dam te gaan, waar hulle geswem het terwyl ander mense vliegvis gevang het. Ons kan nie wag om terug te keer nie. Die plaasverblyf is gerieflik naby Montagu geleë, met soveel om in die omgewing te sien en te doen. Dit is duidelik dat baie liefde en sorg in hierdie spesiale plekkie ingesit is.

Comfortably peaceful. Peaceful stay in a well-equipped little unit tucked under the gum trees. Short walk to the dam to swim or fish. Beautiful part of the country.

Very relaxed and peaceful stay. Just what we needed. Very friendly welcome. We had a wonderful relaxing stay. Everything you need. Our dog loved the dam on the farm. Would definitely recommend.

Great pet friendly accommodation! Protea cottage is a great pet friendly stay. I loved that the enclosing fence is unobtrusive and meant our dog could relax on the lawn out front while we enjoyed sundowners and the view. A short walk takes you to a nearby dam where our dog could have a swim, and back at the house we enjoyed the hot tub, which was thoughtfully fired up before we arrived. A lovely touch was a treat left out for the dog.
