Description
Makhato Lodge 103 is a thatched self-catering bush lodge located in the Sondela Nature Reserve near Bela Bela. The Sondela Nature Reserve in the Limpopo province is a private game reserve just 150 km from Johannesburg, where you can enjoy the tranquillity of the bushveld, encounters with zebra, kudu, impala and giraffe, or a spot of bird watching.
Lodge 103 can accommodate up to 6 guests and comprises 2 bedrooms, an upstairs loft room, 3 bathrooms, and an open-plan kitchen and living area. The first bedroom contains 2 single beds that can be converted to a king-size bed and an en-suite bathroom with a corner bath, a shower, toilet and twin washbasins. The second bedroom contains 2 single beds that can be converted to a king-size bed, and an open-plan en suite with a corner bath. The upstairs loft room contains 2 single beds that can be converted to a king-size bed and an en-suite bathroom with a corner bath. There are ceiling fans in all the bedrooms.
The kitchen is well-equipped for self-catering with a stove and oven, fridge-freezer, microwave, kettle, toaster, and a dishwasher. The lounge offers comfortable seating and a flat-screen TV with a selection of DStv channels. The house has a large lapa with a built-in braai, as well as an outdoor fire pit and braai facility.
Sondela offers an on-site restaurant and bar, a farmyard coffee shop, a general dealer for basic necessities, communal swimming pools, a wildlife centre, and the on-site Iketla Wellness and Spa. There are plenty of activities to keep you busy including game drives, horse rides, bicycles for hire, a 4x4 obstacle course, and guided quad rides.
