Restfull, Peaceful, Beautiful. We had some quiet time, took some walks, read a book and fed the soul with the peaceful environment around us.

I will definitely be back. Honestly, it was breathtaking. I loved the place; the views are out of this world.

Would definitely recommend to those who love nature and desire peace and quiet. We recently had the pleasure of staying at Matjiesvlei Retreat Swartskaap in Calitzdorp, and it was truly a tranquil experience. The breathtaking views of the surrounding mountains, crisp clean air, and soothing sounds of birds chirping and crickets at night made for a serene getaway. The rooms were neat and clean, and we enjoyed the charming company of a bird's nest on our porch. A surprise visit from a curious baboon added to the excitement. However, there were a few minor drawbacks. The 'pool' advertised turned out to be a dam, although we were welcome to swim in it. The kids were initially disappointed, but they soon adapted to the peaceful atmosphere. We also had to bring our own coffee and sugar, which wasn't a major issue. On a less pleasant note, we had two unwelcome visits from rain spiders, which did freak us out a bit. Despite these minor hiccups, we would definitely recommend Matjiesvlei Retreat Swartskaap for its stunning natural beauty, peaceful ambiance, and comfortable accommodations. Just be prepared for some unexpected wildlife encounters!

The stay was peaceful and relaxing but hot. We thoroughly enjoyed the big, spacious house with a beautiful view of the kloof and valley. However, air conditioning would be an improvement.
