The house is very primitive yet cosy, but not much attention is paid to cleaning. There were cobwebs everywhere with long-legged spider families. The biggest problem comes with the French drains which clogged and overflowed in the last week of our stay. The owner did not handle it well and insinuated that we must have thrown something like diapers or wipes or something that blocked it. We were advised to contact the municipality ourselves so that they could come and suck out the drain. It is unacceptable to make it the tenant's problem and make false allegations. Other factors to consider before you would decide to stay here is that there are 2 plates on the stove that do not work. There is no oven, no TV (not necessarily a priority). You must bring your own bedding/towels, the shower inside is an "all-in-one" shower over a toilet and sink and some of the wooden sliding windows cannot be opened. I would like to mention that the roof was rethatched in October 2020 and a team of painters and woodworkers spent 2 weeks here in late November, painting the entire house inside and outside. I can send you the receipts of payment, should you require them. Garden services worked on the 16th Dec and my husband and I spent 3 days washing all toweling mattress/pillow protectors and had all duvets dry cleaned, prior to your arrival, on the 17th Dec. We cleaned the house ourselves, as the house help is this area is very unreliable. It is true that in a thatched roof, spider webs seem to appear almost overnight.
I did inform you about bringing your own bed linen and towels and that there is no TV and no oven.
