Road Lodge Port Elizabeth

Good.

Good service, the location is good and close to amenities.

Unpleasant.

Upon arrival, check-in was a smooth process. We received the keys to our rooms and entered a room that was filthy, with bedding laying everywhere and fumed with smoke ashes and cigarettes scattered around. This really put me off as my daughter has asthma. I immediately wanted to leave! The receptionist had to answer calls, check in visitors, and call the security to take our bags and sort out the rooms, etc. They are understaffed or just lazy because there are people laughing and talking loudly in the back.

My stay was awesome. The check-in staff were helpful.

Wasn't a pleasant one, as you needed to be on edge all the time.

The stay was pleasant. There is definitely a communication gap with the booking's administrators. I booked two rooms and emphasised that they needed to be next to each other. I made myself clear as my twin girls are 13 years of age. My booking was done two months in advance. I did a follow-up call in the first week of March to ensure this was done, only to arrive there after a 14-hour drive to find out my instructions weren't followed. Management couldn't assist, the night managers didn't even inform the senior managers, and they didn't even try to find a way to remedy the situation.

The accommodation was adequate. The guests, however, are uncontrolled. Noisy throughout the Friday and Saturday night. Children knocking on doors of guests. Guests only settling from 5 in the morning. Won't go back.

Will book again.

Wonderful, very welcoming staff. They listened and attended to my needs. Nice location and safe parking.

Comfortable and clean.

The stay was great, the only problem was the downstairs room. I felt unsafe to open a window as people can climb through from the outside. Otherwise, it was a great stay.

Goeie waarde vir geld. Goeie ligging met kos en kuier opsies binne stap afstand.

Our stay was very peaceful. The staff was friendly. Our room was perfect with a good view, so it was worth it. The staff even left us a note, as well as water and a snack, which is very kind and nice of them to do.

Good noise level of children in the passage was a bit high. Some parents had no control.

Good, just the ice machine broke down and children were a bit noisy in the passages.

Basies en veilig.

Ontvangs was super vriendelik en effektief. Netjiese basiese kamers. Baie sentraal geleë. Ongelukkig is daar nie 'n hysbak na die kamers nie.

Gemaklik en netjiese oornagverblyf.

Baie lekker gebly. Daar was geen probleme nie. Naweke is die toeloop van mense en taxi's egter iets ongeloofliks, en jy kan beslis nie net rustig op die strand kom nie.

It was appropriate for my needs. The environmental issues were not.

The venue was central, clean and the staff extremely helpful. I thought there would be a small fridge available, but we coped without one. The Bridge Mall was overrun by hundreds of youth, drinking, screaming, and fighting. The accommodation had no control over that, but it added to the experience (location). If I make use of the accommodation, I will prefer one located elsewhere in Port Elizabeth.

We had a pleasant stay. There was no disruption, it was very quiet and peaceful, which was great.

Ons het dit net gebruik vir oorslaap so dit was wat ons gesoek het.

Die kamer is baie klein, maar vir die doel van net oorslaap vir besigheid kry jy waarvoor jy betaal.

Tydens my bespreking op 5 Mei het ek gevra vir 'n kamer met 'n uitsig oor die see. Volgens die dame was dit nie 'n probleem nie. Toe ek Vrydag 1 September my bespreking bevestig is ek meegedeel dat my uitsig binneland toe is. Dit was 'n groot teleurstelling. By die toonbank van Road Lodge is ek ook meegedeel daar is nie meer see-uitsig kamers nie en dat dit meer sou kos as wat ek betaal het.

Gerieflik naby.

Het sommer klaar vir volgende jaar bespreek.

Besikgheid besoek, slaap en werk.

Gemaklik vir die kort reis - een nag oorbly.

Kan so klein bietjie meer aandag gee aan netheid en skoonmaak van kamers, dooie mot op mat, laken het hare en vuilgoed opgehad toe bed ooptrek, televisie-opvangs glad nie goed nie - sneeu beelde.

Lugreeling week nie. Toilet loop nie vol nie. Kragprop foutief, het my laaier geblaas.

Personeel vriendelik, alles soon maar kort instandhouding. Toilet se uitlaat met 'n lap herstel?

Wonderful stay on the beach.

Road Lodge was a very nice place to stay as it was only for 1 night, we did not book a luxury but still enjoyed it there. It is right on the beach with a mall right there.

Hotel self is skoon, netjies en kamers gerieflik, maar onveilige omgewing.

Weather was great. Hosts were friendly and accommodating.

It was OK, aircon was not working which was a problem.

The aircon was broken and there was no one to fix it, asked if we could get a fan and they couldn't help us. Asked to be moved but they couldn't help with that either.

It was great. If I didn't run out of money, I would have stayed. I will definitely go back.

I was supposed to leave on Saturday, but there were no buses leaving for Cape Town on Saturday so I booked an extra day. They helped a lot.

Disappointing.

Dark, small & gloomy rooms. Noisy corridors. Not many amenities, no mini-fridge, just 1 tiny bar of soap for 2 adults & 2 kids for 2 nights. Breakfast area way too small for amount of guests. Bed old, extremely soft and uncomfortable. Checked out after 1 night and went to another hotel.

As jy enigsins aan engtevrees ly - bly weg. Kamer en veral badkamer uiters beknop. Ons het al beter gebly vir daardie prys en selfs minder. Die ontbyt wat ekstra is, was onsmaaklik. Die hoogtepunt was seker die roosterbrood en vrugteslaai. Slegs droeë roereier - het gevra vir gebakte eier, maar hulle maak niks ekstra as wat op die buffet is nie.

Not worth the spend.

Television did not work properly, room had a terrible smell. Only one, thin duvet, no extra in the cupboard, so I was freezing. The hotel had a terrible smell everywhere. The room does look like the picture, but it is much smaller than appearance. Not happy with the stay.

Friendly staff, good location.

Plenty of restaurants around, good location, check in and check out very quick and convenient. Breakfast is an extra charge though.

Ons het 'n langbroek, belt en 'n met smart baie sentimentele waarde daar vergeet. Ek het vir hulle 'n epos gestuur en nou nog steeds geen antwoord gekry. Ek het hulle ook geskakel en hulle het my gesê dat niemand dit in die kamer gesien het nie. Al is die ligging baie goed sal ek as gevolg van die insident nie weer groepe na die hotel toe vat.

The stay was decent.

It was fine for a one night stay. Also, they should specify to which guests or rooms the light breakfast is applicable to and not advertise on the website that breakfast is included and when one checks in, you hear that breakfast is an extra charge.

Skoon en waarde vir geld.

Goed geleë, gerieflik vir oorslaap en goeie waarde vir geld.

Vir een aand se oorslaap goed genoeg. Maar geen DStv-kanale of yskassie nie.

For a low budget hotel this was very well run and clean!

Oornagakkommodasie.

Ons het vir 'n "beachfront view" gevra en was nie eens gehoor nie, of verduidelik jammer geen kamers beskikbaar of enige terugvoering gegee nie. Ons was net gesê wag asb. die dame het gaan kyk of julle kamers gereed is. Swak!

I had a wonderfull experience at the Road Lodge.

The rooms were clean, very comfortable, and the staff was amazing. They went over and beyond to help make our stay enjoyable. I highly recommend this hotel for anyone visiting.

Ideal for a quick overnight if you are a sound sleeper.

A bit noisy as people go in and out. Close to restaurants. Rooms need a bit of TLC as carpets have stains and it was a run around to get a hairdryer.

Slegs een aand oorgeslaap in PE. Dit was heeltemal geskik vir ons doeleindes.

Dit was slegs 'n oornagbesoek vir my en my vrou, wat op reis was deur die Oos-Kaap en Suid-Kaap. Die kamer het voldoen aan ons vereistes vir 'n een-aand oornagplek.

Verblyf is goed.

Verblyf by Road Lodge was goed. Ontvangspersoneel en sekuriteit is vriendelik en professioneel. Kamer is netjies en goed ingerig.

It was very relaxing.

The staff and the accommodation itself was the best.

Het lekker gerus

Akkommodasie redelik klein. Dstv nie alle kanale. Baie skoon en netjies. Voel die bedrag per nag is regtig te hoog.
