Clean, safe and comfy. Well located. Clean. Very tight squeeze. We felt comfy and safe but would not recommend dinner there; they are not set up for it, 90 min wait for our order, but there are some lovely restaurants across the road.

It was a place to sleep and rest after a long day's activities. Our family stayed at Road Lodge Port Elizabeth from 25 December 2025 to 8 January 2026. While the location is convenient, the overall experience was disappointing. During our stay, we encountered several ongoing issues including faulty air-conditioning, uncomfortable and unstable beds, unpleasant odours from kettles and pillows, non-functioning TVs and remotes, unreliable key cards, and frequent problems with the breakfast coffee machine. All issues were reported, and staff were polite and apologetic; however, problems were repeatedly said to be “looked into” without any feedback or effective resolution. Over an extended stay, this becomes frustrating and leaves one feeling undervalued as a paying guest. This feedback is shared honestly and reluctantly, but after such a long stay and the costs involved, we expected a higher standard of comfort, maintenance, and follow-through.

"Unforgettable" like Nat King Cole said. It was my 50th birthday, and the staff there made it memorable. They showered me with love and the room was set up especially for me. I truly appreciated the extra mile.

Was fit for purpose. Short stay, an on-route stopover. Recommended for short stays, a night or two. No access control at the gate and anyone can have access to the premises.
