Description

Rooipan Guest House is the perfect interlude for overnight accommodation on the R360 as it is situated halfway between Upington and the Kgalagadi Transfrontier Park.

The accommodation comprises 3 guest rooms which are situated in the main house, as well as a garden cottage situated next to the swimming pool. Each of the 3 guest rooms share a bathroom with a bath, shower, basin, and a seperate toilet. Guest Room 1 has 2 single beds, Guest Room 2 has a queen bed, and Guest Room 3 has a double bed. Guest Room 1 and 2 have a bar fridge in each. The Desert Bloom Cottage has a bedroom with 2 single beds and 1 single bed in the open-plan living area. The bathroom has a bath, shower, toilet and basin. The Desert Bloom Cottage is fully eqquiped and the kitchenette has a fridge, microwave, and a stove.

Guests have access to a communal, cosy lounge and dining area with tea- and coffee- making facilities, a living room with a TV with DStv, a swimming pool, and braai facilities.

Meals are available by prior arrangement, at an additional fee.

Relax in the garden with a book from the 'smallest library', sip on a glass of wine from the Lower Orange region, or cool off in the swimming pool. Guests can enjoy long walks in the area which is flooded with indigenous flora and fauna. Guests can take a selfdrive trip to a Salt pan where they produce salt of a high quality. This salt is transported to Upington by huge trucks, from where it is distributed over the entire country as well as to the rest of Africa. We are a working sheep and cattle farm and a sundowner on a high dune on the edge of the salt pan can be booked prior to your arrival at a minimum extra cost.
