A serene, pet-friendly getaway with stunning surroundings and a fantastic host. We had the most incredible stay at Standard Serenity Chalet over the Easter weekend — truly one of the most restful getaways we’ve ever had. Tucked away on a peaceful farm near the Magalies/Mooinooi area, the setting is absolutely beautiful. You’re surrounded by open fields and trees, with wildlife wandering by — we spotted blesbok, blue wildebeest, warthogs, and even horses coming up to visit. It really feels like you’ve stepped into your own quiet little world. The chalet itself is thoughtfully set up and so easy to settle into, but the real highlights for us were the spaces designed for relaxing. The indoor hot tub is such a treat — especially on cooler or windy evenings — and makes the experience feel cosy no matter the weather. The splash pool was also a huge hit, especially for our dog, who had the time of his life. The garden is lush and calming, and the fenced area meant we could completely relax knowing he was safe. What stood out most, though, was the atmosphere — the sounds of nature, the stillness, and the sense of calm that just settles over you. We genuinely left feeling more rested than we ever have after a weekend away. Melanie is a fantastic host — warm, thoughtful, and clearly passionate about what she’s created. From the moment we arrived, we felt so welcome. The small touches made such a difference — flowers beautifully arranged (even in the splash pool!), and little details like neatly folded towels that made everything feel extra special. This is truly a gem, and we can’t recommend it highly enough. We’ll absolutely be back.
