Description
Shikwari Nature Reserve is situated near the Kruger National Park and the Panorama Route, offering accommodation within a private nature reserve surrounded by bushveld scenery and wildlife. The reserve provides a peaceful natural setting where guests can enjoy birdlife, indigenous vegetation, and a variety of outdoor experiences while remaining within easy reach of some of the region’s most popular attractions.
Accommodation is offered in 2 distinct camps. Shikwari Suites Camp is a 4-star TGCSA-graded establishment comprising 6 spacious suites. Each suite is fitted with an en-suite bathroom and an outdoor shower and includes tea- and coffee-making facilities, quality linen and towels, and a mini fridge available on request. Pangolin Rondavels comprises 4 comfortable rondavels situated approximately 500 m from the main lodge. Two rondavels have private bush bathrooms, while the remaining two share a separate bathroom facility. Each rondavel accommodates 2 adults and up to 2 children under 17 years and is equipped with a ceiling fan, seating area, tea- and coffee-making facilities, and a small fridge-freezer.
A communal kitchenette is available at Pangolin Rondavels and is equipped with gas and electric hobs, ovens, and braai facilities. Guests staying in the rondavels are advised to bring their own swimming towels, picnic equipment, braai utensils, and charcoal. Breakfast is included for rondavel guests, while dinner can be arranged on request. At Shikwari Suites Camp, breakfast and a 2-course dinner are served as part of the guest experience. Daily housekeeping is provided throughout the property, and a laundry service is available at an additional cost for suite guests.
Shared facilities include a swimming pool at each camp, as well as a lounge with a licensed bar, Wi-Fi in communal areas, a verandah, viewing deck, and braai boma. Guests can enjoy wildlife viewing within the reserve and birdwatching opportunities, while a variety of guided excursions and transfers to nearby attractions can be arranged. Popular activities include visits to private game reserves, Kruger National Park, and the Panorama Route, with bookings arranged in advance through the lodge.
