Description
Shondoro Mountain Retreat is situated in Vaalwater and offers 3 rustic stone and thatch cottages. The surrounding area is rich in history. The Waterberg Meander route starts here, at the most common entrance to the Waterberg plateau-the Sandrivierspoort, one of only five natural gateways into the hinterland.
The Reedbuck Family cottage consists of 2 bedrooms, one with queen bed and en-suite bathroom with shower only. The second room has twin three-quarter beds and an en-suite shower. There is a fully equipped outside kitchen and a braai boma.
The Bushbuck cottage consist of a queen bed with en-suite bathroom with shower.
The Klipspringer cottage consists of a king bed with en-suite bathroom with shower.
The outside kitchens for all cottages are fully equipped and each cottage has a private braai-boma.
All the cottages are equipped with air conditioning.
A natural swimming pool at the cottages overlooks the mountains where peace and tranquillity will envelop you. We also offer many walking trails and climbs as well as mountain biking trails, farm roads and nature trails, for the novice and more advanced riders. Shondoro Mountain Retreat is a 150 ha bushveld farm that lies in the malaria free Waterberg Mountains with outstanding birdwatching opportunities and amazing tree spotting.
Shondoro Mountain Retreat can only be reached with a high clearance vehicle like a SUV and bakkie.
