Very peaceful and nice! It was very nice there. I just think the road signs need to be changed because the road from Bothaville is not in good condition. Morne was very helpful. The food at the restaurant was delicious. Family holiday at Oewer House. We stayed at Oewer House with the family for Christmas week and it was absolutely lovely. Men went fishing all week, directly in front of the house, and staff were very supportive with e.g. earthworms. As the lodge's premises are located about an hour from Bothaville on a gravel road, it is definitely recommended to bring enough supplies with you. Ice and wood can be bought from the lodge. During our stay, the aircon leaked water, but staff were sent to fix it after a few days. Also, be prepared to deal with millions of bugs as soon as the sun sets. Cleaners come every morning to clean the dishes, which was highly appreciated. The main area had a pool and a small but very old putt-putt course; both could use an upgrade or a proper clean. Don't book Cabin 6. Stompies by the braai area, broken plastic toilet seat, dirty pot lids, no frying pan, no microwave as seen in the pictures, big red wine stain not wiped on the table, bakkies driving up and down all day until 21:30 so it wasn't peaceful and quiet. All could have been overlooked if we had water. But we had not so much as a container, a bucket, or a bottle of water so that we could flush the toilet, wash our face, or brush our teeth.
