Indescribable view. What a place! The location is incredible. Hiking trails from the lodge, you don't even have to do the Sentinel Peak / Tugela hike! Friendly and accommodating. A warm welcome, a fire in the restaurant and friendly, accommodating staff. Comfortable accommodation to achieve a bucket list experience. Accommodation was comfortable, traveled safely, road was good, service was helpful, food was delicious. Parking was ample and safe. Sleeping comfort was great. Aircon/heater a plus. Everything was clean. And the place is close to the most beautiful viewpoints of the Drakensberg. Will go there again and can recommend to others. You do need a 4x4 to travel up to Sentinal car park.

Beautiful views, stunning walks, warm and friendly staff. Magical. Witsieshoek is a magical place with incredible views and access to some of the best mountain hiking in SA. The staff are professional and so warm, and the restaurant provides very good fare at reasonable prices. This is truly a place to return to. The prices for both the backpackers and private rooms are steep - but what you pay for is access to some of our country's greatest, most beautiful nature.
