"Die strate van hierdie dorp is in 'n ernstige toestand van verwaarlosing. Ons het gesoek na die Victoriaanse perde-trog in Frerestraat, maar dis klaarblyklik verwyder. By Olive Schreiner se huis is die koperplaatjies ook opvallend afwesig. Die NG Kerk naby die Hotel is 'n pragtige gebou. Ons het dit baie geniet om die stringe Tuishuise te sien - lieflike restourasiewerk."
