House Rules
All pets must be approved by management prior to arrival. If prior approval has not been arranged at the time of reservation confirmation or before arrival, bookings cannot be accommodated. Only small dogs are accepted. Please note that the property’s friendly Buccara cats and dogs roam freely. They are sociable with both guests and other pets, contributing to the relaxed, farm-style atmosphere.
Personalised concierge services are available, including private chef experiences, transport arrangements, and spa treatments. All services are subject to availability and require prebooking.
From the R61 tar road turn-off, a well-maintained 9 km dirt road leads to Clifton Manor House and Clifton Main House. A medium-clearance vehicle is required for this route. Guests staying at Willowslopes continue along an additional 8.5 km through riverine terrain, for which a high-clearance vehicle is essential.
Check-in is available from 14:00 to 19:00. Late check-ins are subject to an additional fee per hour. Check-out time is 10:00. Late check-outs between 10:00 and 15:00 incur a half-day rate, while check-outs after 15:00 are charged a full night rate. Late check-outs are subject to availability and should be arranged directly with reservations or the property manager.
Bookings are on a self-catering or room-only basis. Communal kitchen facilities, braai facilities, wood, firelighters, and ice are provided for guests’ convenience.
Self-driving on the reserve is not permitted. Guests are welcome to explore the reserve on recommended walking routes. Guided game drives and guided walks are available upon request, priced separately and subject to availability.
The nearest town, Graaff-Reinet, is approximately 25–30 minutes from the reserve. Guests are advised to purchase necessary supplies while passing through town, as no restaurants or shops are available on the reserve. Private chef services can be arranged upon request.
Pet Policy & Guidelines
Pre-Approval: All pets must be approved by management prior to arrival.
Socialised & Non-Aggressive: All pets must be socialised and non-aggressive toward people and other animals. There are other dogs on the property that roam freely on the lodge grounds. There are no fences around your accommodation.
Supervision: Pets must not be left unattended at any time, whether inside the lodge or on the grounds.
Leash Policy: Pets must be kept on a leash in all shared areas and when staff are present on-site.
Restricted Areas: Pets are not permitted in the swimming pool or on beds and furniture.
Clean-Up Responsibility: Owners are required to clean up after their pets at all times. Waste must be disposed of hygienically. Please note that additional cleaning charges will apply if this guideline is not followed.
Bedding & Supplies: Please bring your pet’s own bedding, bowls, and preferred food. We do not provide pet amenities.
Noise: Please manage your pet to avoid excessive barking.
Health & Hygiene: All pets must be healthy, vaccinated, and treated for fleas and ticks prior to arrival.
Damage & Liability: Buccara accepts no liability for injury, loss, or damage caused to or by your pets. Owners are financially responsible for any damage or incidents involving their pets.
