Description

Oupoort Eco and Guest Farm offers self-catering accommodation in a rustic age-old stone house, ideal for families, friends, motor cyclists, campers and overlanders. The farm is situated 65 km from Sutherland, where guests can enjoy the tranquillity of the Karoo.

The house is off-the-grid and makes use of solar power as well as pure borehole water. It consists of 4 bedrooms and can accommodate 10 guests. The first bedroom contains a queen-size bed, the second bedroom contains a king-size bed, the third bedroom contains a double bed and a single bed, and the fourth bedroom is furnished with a single bed and a bunk bed. The bathroom is fitted with a shower-over-bath.

There is an open-plan kitchen, dining and living area, as well as a second lounge with a pool table. The kitchen is equipped with a fridge, Aga oven and stove, and a mini-oven and 2-plate stove, as well as a dining table and chairs; this leads to a lounge area with an indoor fireplace.

On the farm guests can enjoy beautiful sunrises, sunsets and star gazing, as well as guided eco-walks, cycling routes and donkey cart rides.

The farm is located on the R354 and is 20 km from Middelpos. It is the gateway to and from the Tankwa Karoo National Park, which is situated 69 km away.
