Description

San Gabriel Homestead is a historical property off the R44 between Somerset West and Stellenbosch, set between the foothills of the Helderberg and Simonsberg. Founded in the mid-1700s, it features old oaks, rose gardens, expansive lawns, and a secret forest.

Accommodation is offered in the classic Cape Dutch Manor House and 7 restored cottages. The Manor House has 4 bedrooms with en-suite bathrooms, a farm kitchen, a lounge with a fireplace, a dining room, a study cum library with a fireplace, and a private pool.

Cottages vary from 1 to 2 bedrooms with en-suite bathrooms, kitchens, lounges, patios, and braai facilities. All units are self-catering and equipped with essential appliances, including a fridge, kettle, microwave, stove, and oven. Utilities such as lights, fridges, Wi-Fi, and TVs remain operational during load-shedding.

The property features patios with tables and chairs for each unit, allowing guests to relax and enjoy the surroundings. Well-maintained lawns provide open space, and a communal swimming pool is available for all guests. The homestead is close to wine estates, historical sites, and outdoor activities in the Cape Winelands within 20 km.
