We had an amazing, very romantic weekend. We'll visit again, for sure. The sunsets were amazing. The dome was beautiful and clean. It had everything we needed. The dam did not have a lot of fish, but it was nice casting from the deck. We enjoyed cooling down in cold water in the bath on the deck, and we loved the shower. The dome had everything we needed.

Really enjoyed it. Great time! Perfect getaway for a couple. Great place to stay for a weekend getaway! Very peaceful. Perfect place to relax and disconnect. Roads are very easy to drive even in a small city car. Great walking/hiking trail. Saw that there was a raft/canoe shown in images of the place; however, could not find it anywhere and would have liked to have done that on the dam. Additional sauna facilities are available on the farm and that was incredible (best view from a sauna that I have ever experienced). Would recommend the Dome Tulbagh.

A great overnight comfortable stay and really loved the environment. Sunset Dome is rustic, peaceful and quiet - exactly what was needed. Some constructive feedback for the owners: 1. Unit is looking a little "tired" and the exterior of the unit needs some spring cleaning. 2. Deck and woodwork need varnishing and maintenance. 3. Interior door lock needs some attention. 4. A few branches need to be cut away, as they obstruct the dam view. 5. The reeds are starting to close off the view from the deck. 6. Soap rack in the shower and more space for toiletries. 7. Could not comment on customer service, as we did not see anyone during our stay. 8. Photos are dated and not how it looks now.

Hi Michelle! Thank you so much for your thoughtful review of the Sunset Dome - we appreciate it. We’re so glad to hear that you found the dome rustic, peaceful and quiet - exactly the experience we hope to create. All of your points are completely valid, and we’ll be addressing them with our maintenance and cleaning teams. The Sunset Dome was the very first accommodation on the farm, and after many wonderful guests and seasons, it’s definitely ready for some TLC. We’re actually planning a full refresh this year, including maintenance to the deck and woodwork, attention to the smaller interior details, and clearing the surrounding vegetation to open up the dam views again. A new photoshoot is already in the pipeline as part of the revamp, so the online images will soon reflect the updated look and feel more accurately. Regarding customer service - we respect our guests’ privacy and try not to intrude unless needed, but we’re always just a message or phone call away should anything arise during a stay. We’d absolutely love to welcome you back once the upgrades are complete so you can experience the refreshed Sunset Dome.
