Blyde River Canyon Boat Cruise

The Blyde River Canyon is the 3rd largest canyon in the world and is a deep, lush, green canyon with a wealth of plant and animals species and a fascinating geology. The canyon is home to a few of the world’s rare tufa waterfalls. These waterfalls build up and lay down tufa rock after a chemical reaction precipitates cultrate out of the reaction between plant, water and rock.

The canyon is traditionally viewed from tourist attractions such as god's window and the three rondawels, however to see it from below and from the water is a unique way to experience the dramatic geology, with the added advantage of the excellent birding, the occasional croc sun-bathing on a rock and the curious pods of hippo that approach the safe craft. For groups of 4 or more, the luxurious luncheon chardonnay cruise is a fabulous outing. Lunch and drinks are served on board while the guide skippers the boat across the blue lake. For smaller groups the scheduled tours run in the morning and afternoon.
