Mnandi Beach

Mitchells Plain, Cape Town, Western Cape
+5

Description

Mnandi Beach, a lovely Blue Flag beach set on the warm False Bay coastline, is popular with the local residents of Strandfontein and Khayelitsha. Situated in Mitchell’s Plain, this 5km beach can get quite windy and the currents quite treacherous, but there are demarcated swimming areas laid out by the lifeguards in season.

The beach is fantastic for walking and fishing, and it offers spectacular views over the Wolfgat Nature Reserve’s limestone cliffs. There is ample parking and as the lot is well positioned, you don’t even have to get out of your car to enjoy views of the sea, whales, and seals (especially during the winter months). The adjacent recreational area offers water slides, a large freshwater swimming pool, playground, kiosk, as well as picnic and braai areas.
