We were in need of petrol and when we arrived there we found they had none and they did not know when they would receive - typical farming town I suppose. Great butchery (Model Butchery) which sells great lamb chops and the best marinated chicken kebabs that we have ever tasted."

"We spent Christmas in Clarens. Cute town in a beautiful location. Had excellent Christmas dinner at Gusto. Sterkfontein dam is worth a visit, also the Ash River. The golf course is very good."
