Gazania Cottage is a self-catering unit launched in April 2025, located in the quiet nature conservation village of Blue Horizon Bay. Surrounded by indigenous vegetation and offering lovely sea views, it is ideal for a peaceful coastal retreat.
The freestanding cottage accommodates up to 4 guests in 2 bedrooms. The main bedroom is furnished with a queen-size bed, while the second bedroom contains 2 single beds. The shared bathroom is fitted with a shower, and Wi-Fi is available throughout the unit.
The open-plan living area includes a comfortable lounge with a TV, a dining area, and a fully equipped kitchen fitted with a fridge-freezer, gas stove, oven, microwave, washing machine, tea- and coffee-making facilities, and a Nespresso machine. The deck offers beautiful sea views and features a braai area, perfect for outdoor dining. Secure on-site parking is provided.
Guests can enjoy the natural surroundings, with dolphin sightings possible year-round and whales often seen during winter and spring. The area is rich in birdlife, including the Knysna loerie. A white sandy beach is just a 3-minute drive away, and shops and restaurants are conveniently nearby.
For those who wish to explore further, there are many exciting day trips in the surrounding area. These include Addo Elephant National Park, home to the Big 7; Tsitsikamma National Park, known for its scenic hiking trails, river activities, and canopy tours; and the Bloukrans Bridge, famous for the world’s highest commercial bungee jump. Other attractions include African Dawn Wildlife Sanctuary, Port St Francis Harbour with its shops and restaurants, the St Francis Bay Lighthouse, and Jeffreys Bay, known for surfing, water parks, and family-friendly activities. Guests can also visit the Baviaanskloof Wilderness Area for outdoor adventures such as hiking, 4x4 routes, and game viewing, or enjoy diving trips and ocean boat rides in Port Elizabeth.
