Hidden Karoo gem. We stayed one night at Hidden Karoo Cottage while travelling back from the Western Cape to North West, and what a hidden gem it truly is. This place feels like an oasis in the heart of the Karoo — a space that sits somewhere between heaven and earth. The cottage is beautifully designed and thoughtfully laid out. With doors opening from the rooms straight onto the surrounding landscape, it doesn’t feel like you are staying in a cottage, but rather within the Karoo itself, surrounded by its unique fauna and flora. The sense of peace and connection to nature is exceptional. It was wonderfully quiet during our stay — just us, the full moon, and the breathtaking Karoo surroundings. The braai area is perfect, and a skaapribbetjie on the fire is an absolute must. The small pool was a real treasure in the hot weather and was thoroughly enjoyed. The hosts were truly remarkable: warm, friendly, and genuinely attentive. They went out of their way to ensure that we were comfortable and well looked after, responding quickly and professionally to any needs and making us feel completely at ease. Their care and dedication made our stay even more special. Hidden Karoo Cottage is a place we will remember fondly and would highly recommend to anyone seeking tranquillity, natural beauty, and heartfelt hospitality.

Ongelooflik! Wow, wat 'n ongelooflike mooi plek, met 'n lieflike uitsig. Ons het binne 5 minute van ons aankom alreeds begin beplan wanneer ons weer kan kom! So rustig!

Skoon, stil en regtig die moeite werd! Ons het onlangs die voorreg gehad om by Hidden Karoo Cottage te bly, en ek kan dit met die grootste lof aanbeveel! Dit is werklik 'n verborge juweel in die hartjie van die Karoo. Plaaslike sjarme en vrede: Die kothuis is pragtig ingerig met 'n outentieke, rustieke Karoo-gevoel. Dit is die perfekte wegbreek van die stadslewe – ongelooflik stil en salig vreedsaam. Jy word wakker met die geluid van die natuur en kan die sterre kyk soos nêrens anders nie. Alles wat jy nodig het, en selfs meer, is voorsien. Die kothuis was vlekkeloos skoon en die beddens was heerlik gemaklik. Die klein ekstras, soos die binnebraai en die komplimentêre koffie/tee, het regtig gewys hoeveel moeite die eienaars doen. Die eienaars is ongelooflik vriendelik en was baie behulpsaam met wenke. Dis so lekker om ware Karoo-gasvryheid te ervaar! Die uitsigte oor die Karoo-landskap is asemrowend. Dit is die ideale plek om te ontspan, 'n boek te lees, of bloot die skoonheid van die dorre, dog pragtige, omgewing in te neem. Ek gee Hidden Karoo Cottage 'n volle 5 uit 5 sterre!

True gem home away from home. Piece of heaven in the Karoo, a true gem. The hosts were attentive and communicated with us all the time. Will be back.

Quiet, relaxing, unusual. The location was magnificent, a place where one would not normally go but such a special house and off the beaten track. That is a fantastic feature of the cottage. We were looking for unusual locations but still with the luxury and 'wow' factor, and Hidden Karoo Cottage ticked all the boxes. Plan to get to the cottage well before sunset to enjoy all that it, and the location, has to offer.

Stunning location. What an amazing place, very well worth going off the beaten track for a spectacular stay.

Hidden in the Karoo. It was so nice we booked to stay there on our trip back from CT as well. This time we used the pool because it was so warm; we love this little home so much. Thank you to the hosts for accommodating us. Take the dirt road from Streydenburg to the farm as directed by the owner. It is a decent dirt road.
