Insufficient power and running water. The surroundings were beautiful and quiet but would have been more enjoyable if there was electricity during the night and running water. The overview on the website reads that there is solar-powered electricity and a gas geyser for warm water. There is no mention that the water is fed to the house via a pressure pump, and that the pressure pump uses the same electricity source from the two solar panels attached to the cabin. The cell phone signal antenna is also linked to the same power source, so when the power goes out at 8pm, there is no way of communicating if there is an emergency. We would have gladly brought along our portable battery and panels if the owners and the website were transparent about the amount of electricity available to use in the house. We only switched the pressure pump on to shower and turned it off immediately after. On the third day, we switched everything off, including the fridge, and never touched the pressure pump. The electricity still went off at 8pm. This property cannot be advertised as having electricity and running water. These are add-ons, and you need to bring along your own power. It is such a pity, as it really is a beautiful location. If the batteries are old, they will not store the electricity, hence no electricity at night. This needs to be looked at ASAP. Unfortunately, the pressure pump broke just before we arrived as well, which added to the electricity and water issue. To be clear: if there is no electricity, you will not be able to have running water.

Lekker rustig op die plaas, net te moeilik om by die see te kom. Ja, as jy hou van 'n afgeleë, rustige plek, maar die grondpad is baie sleg.

Fantastic taste of farm style living. Great relaxing get away. Fantastic, off-the-grid getaway for the whole family, including four-legged. We enjoyed the quiet and peaceful stay and would definitely return and recommend it to others.

Sielsrus. Ons gesin van 5 het heerlik afgeskakel in die natuur, boeke gelees, sterre gekyk, kite gevlieg, en vir 'n dag deurgery Stilbaai en Jongensfontein toe om langs die see te gaan stap. Wonderlik!
