Will do it again. It was a perfect mini-break with family. The cottage is lovely and plenty of interesting creatures walking around.

A beautiful little gem in the middle of the bush. Impala Cottage is a very peaceful and quiet retreat, with incredible wildlife right at your doorstep — we were treated to a whole family of warthogs and two duiker visiting the house. The small pool was spotless and a wonderful relief in the intense heat. The home was very clean, and the two ground-floor bedrooms are stunning, each with king-size beds and brand-new linen. One bathroom is compact with a shower only, while the second is beautiful with both a bath and shower. The loft room with two single beds would suit small children. The coffee station was well stocked, and the added basics like salt, pepper, oil, and vinegar were appreciated. Although the house wasn’t serviced over Christmas, we enjoyed the privacy. Unfortunately, the garbage was not collected and monkeys got into the bags one day. There are a few areas needing attention: the kitchen has no oven as advertised, limited cutlery, and the dining table only seats four despite being listed as a six-sleeper. The TV area is small with limited seating, and the TV only allowed YouTube despite good Wi-Fi access. The basin in one en-suite bathroom was also blocked. Overall, the service was friendly and accommodating, and we felt well looked after. With a few upgrades and small fixes, this would be a truly special bush getaway — we would happily return.

Rustige bosveld atmosfeer, maar huis is outdated en kort aandag. Ons het lekker gebly en die huis is gerieflik, maar 'n make-over of vernuwing sal dit meer aanloklik maak. 'n Sambreel of 'n afdak word hoogs aanbeveel. Daar is geen skaduwee om te sit nie - dit was 35 grade en skadu sou terdee geniet kon word. Dus het ons meestal binne gebly. Die eetkamer-tafel het net 5 stoele. Daar is net sitplek vir 3 in die sitkamer. (Fotos vertoon ander meubels). Die eenheid was skoon en netjies. Al die basiese kombuisware is daar. Items wat aanbeveel word is 'n Braaivleisbak/steel casserol pot. Daar is geen plastiekhouers/Tupper nie.

Good, but have to solve the ant problem. The electricity was not prepaid and we were without electricity on the first evening. That meant that we did not sleep well the first night. In the kitchen, you cannot leave anything outside. A lot of ants. We had to throw away a loaf of bread and some food due to that. The one dustbin in the one room was not emptied. Apart from that, the stay was good. The animals visiting the water pond were a highlight.
