Description
Kaalvoet is a self-catering retreat situated between Magaliesburg and Rustenburg, within the UNESCO-listed Magaliesberg Biosphere. The property accommodates up to 12 guests across 5 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms.
The main bedroom is furnished with a king-size bed, three further bedrooms each have a queen-size bed, and the loft features 2 double futons for additional guests. The first bathroom is fitted with a bath, shower, toilet, and basin; the second bathroom is fitted with a bath, toilet, and basin; and the third bathroom is fitted with a shower, toilet, and basin.
The kitchen is fully equipped for self-catering and includes a gas stove, electric stove, oven, coal stove, Nespresso machine, additional coffee makers, quality cookware, crockery, and fresh herbs grown beside the wetland pool. The open-plan living areas connect seamlessly with a sunny dining space, lounge with fireplace, daybed nook, and an upstairs loft, creating a relaxed, social flow.
The 21-hectare property has been restored into an ecological haven with a natural wetland pond, chemical-free reservoir pool, and abundant birdlife. The wide patio, shaded by a cantilevered roof, is furnished for outdoor dining, reading, or enjoying the mountain views. Guests can explore the farm in privacy and safety, encountering features such as the Hex River and a hidden timber tree platform, as well as signs of local wildlife, including kudu, bushbuck, and porcupines.
The farm manager, living nearby, welcomes guests on arrival and is available if needed, while still maintaining complete privacy. Kaalvoet offers a soulful, barefoot escape, blending thoughtful architecture, nature, and comfort for an immersive retreat experience.
