Not worth it. I recently stayed at Royal Marlothi Kruger Safari Lodge and Spa over the Easter weekend, and unfortunately, our experience was quite disappointing. The condition of the unit we stayed in was not up to standard, especially considering the price we paid (R10 for two nights). The braai facility in the unit was in very poor condition and unusable, and the outdoor table was also damaged, making it impossible to comfortably sit outside. Inside, we found that the plates were stored on the ground in the cupboard, which was unhygienic. There were also maintenance issues throughout the unit. In the bathrooms, some of the rails were broken, and several curtains were hanging loose or dragging on the floor. The TV did not work for most of our stay and was only fixed on Saturday evening. That said, I do want to acknowledge the staff, who were very friendly and did make an effort to improve things after we raised our concerns. Overall, for the amount we paid, we expected a much better standard. With proper maintenance and attention to detail, this could be a great place to stay, but unfortunately, it did not meet expectations during our visit.

Not too pleasant. I regret to send this email as I am usually not a person to complain, but we are of the opinion that the lodge does not meet the standards or requirements as they are advertised. It also does not seem as if it should qualify as a 4-star lodge. Except for the friendly staff who received us well, the following issues are just unacceptable for a 4-star lodge: 1. The water was an issue every day. We had to call the staff to assist to restore the water at least 2 times per day. There was no water on day one of our arrival and we had to bathe our little 1-year-old in cold water. 2. The braai at the swimming pool area is unusable. 3. There is black mould on the ceiling in one of the bathrooms; in some places, the ceiling is coming off and the shower doors cannot close properly. 4. There are no wine glasses. 5. On the stoep, there are only 3 chairs for a unit that accommodates 6 people, and the chairs are so flimsy. A big man like myself (115kg) cannot sit on these chairs as they will break. 6. One of the closet doors in the main bedroom cannot even open because the curtain rail is incorrectly attached to the wall and blocks the door. 7. The staff quarters sit directly below the unit. The people did bother us, but this is not common for a 4-star lodge in our view. 8. The aircon in the main lounge leaks through the wall, and the entire carpet in the lounge was soaking wet every day. This is unacceptable and disappointing, and we will not recommend this place to anyone who is expecting to get a 4-star experience in the bush, maybe a 2/3 star.

Would not recommend. Refrigerator not working. Water leak from refrigerator or air conditioner in dining room through to living room. Living room sofa is torn. Garden furniture needs to be replaced. Pool is dirty.
