Excellent location. A lot of non-stop noise; excessive rules. This place is very well located. Front of house can be tedious, uninterested persons, with a lot of "no". The facilities themselves are excellent - fixtures, mattress, lighting, floors, overall design are amazing. There is no microwave, unfortunately. The pool is owned and run by another entity with very short periods for swimming (closes at 1pm on weekends!). There are three sources of sound - an illegal night club diagonally across and three floors down; a poorly insulated front door (so you hear all patrons in your corridor traipsing and cajoling in the corridor at any hour of the night) and a general aircon for the whole establishment that runs 24-7 (about 70 dB measured at the bed's pillow). If you are a heavy sleeper, then this place is just for you. If you are a light sleeper, I strongly recommend you avoid this place.

Hi Vince, Thank you, I appreciate your rating and review as well as the criticisms which have already been applied to make constructive changes. On the noise issues, the below are in process: Illegal nightclub - Legal proceedings have been in motion for almost a year now against the nightclub by the Body Corporate of the Barracks, and it has reached the point where the City of Cape Town and the Liquor Board tribunal are involved to resolve. The Central Ventilation unit: After your initial complaint, the installer was contacted and has inspected the unit and found it to be operating as it should. He acquired sound testing equipment and is returning on Monday 24 February to conduct a sound test after which he will advise on a solution. The door - We are in the process of testing sealing solutions around the door frame and below the door. This should be implemented within the next month. The unit is fitted with a beautiful Bosch microwave; you might have mistaken this for an oven due to it being installed under the counter. Regulation around the pool area is strict, yes, but please bear in mind this is to ensure the safety and sanity of all our guests as open areas pose serious safety risks, and noise disturbances should they not be controlled. I would like to invite you back once the concerns raised have been resolved and am willing to offer you a night's stay at no cost with your next booking. Regards, Willem

Hi Nadine, Dankie vir jou resensie en mooi woorde! Kan ek vrae wat jy foutgevind het met veiligheid. Ek is geskok toe ek sien jy het net 1/5 op veiligheid gradeer en dit is ‘n baie ernstige saak wat aangespreek moet word. Toegang word streng beheer en daar is 24 uur sekuriteit op die perseel. Verder is al die algemene areas gedek deur sekuriteitskameras. Ek sal bitter graag wil verbeter om die veiligheid van toekomstige gaste te verseker. Behalwe vir jou lae gradering op veiligheid het 100% van die ander gaste die eiendom ‘n 5/5 gradeer vir veiligheid. Jou terugvoer sal hoog op prys gestel word. Groete, Willem
