Charming cottage in a beautiful, tranquil setting, and only 15 mins to the beach. I thoroughly enjoyed my stay at Teacher’s Cottage on Old School Farm in Harkerville, Plettenberg Bay. It’s Plett’s best kept secret! I highly recommend it to anyone looking for short or long-term, quality, affordable self-catering accommodation providing convenience, privacy and tranquillity, with all mod cons including 5G WiFi. And the farm is just a 10-minute drive to town and shopping centres, and fifteen minutes to beaches, the lagoon and rivers. The cottage is lovely, secluded and well equipped. Love the two covered outdoor decks, one north-facing to soak up the sun, and a cooler south-facing one with heated jacuzzi, fireplace, braai and all the firewood you need. A bonus is that the farm is completely off-grid with electricity supplied by solar, gas and backup generator, so no load shedding. As it’s a guest farm, not a working one, there are no roosters, cows or dogs to wake one up at four in the morning! The outdoor facilities available to guests on the farm are fantastic, including a 2km trail for off-road cycling, cross-country running or walking. There is also a skate-board park, half-size soccer field, swimming pool, trampoline, fire pit, dams, a lawned park for other ball games or flying kites and drones, in addition to the professionally run on-site Archery Adventures, which is available at an additional charge. Best of all, the hosts went out of their way to make me feel completely at home.
