Description
Driekwartblou Guesthouse is situated on a working farm with spectacular 180-degree views of the Gariep Dam. Located next to the Oviston Nature Reserve, guests can even spot wildlife from their private patio. The guesthouse is approximately 30 km from the N1 highway, with a 1.8 km dirt road leading from the main gate to the accommodation.
Accommodation is offered in 4 modern en-suite units, each equipped with air conditioning and DStv. The guesthouse is powered by solar energy, ensuring that it is unaffected by load shedding.
Meals are available on request and, weather permitting, can be served on the private patio. No meals are served on Sundays. Two of the units are fully equipped with self-catering facilities, and braai facilities are also available. Unit 4 offers basic self-catering amenities, including a fridge, kettle, and microwave, as well as access to braai facilities. This unit is perfect for guests who prefer to prepare light meals themselves but do not wish to use the provided meal options.
Free Wi-Fi is available, and there is generally good mobile reception, allowing for mobile data use.
Guests can start their day by watching the sunrise with a cup of coffee and complimentary homemade rusks.
In summer, guests can cool off in the farm dam, and marked hiking trails are available for exploration. Guided hikes can also be arranged. Cyclists are welcome to tackle the trails on their mountain bikes. Due to minimal light pollution in the area, it is a popular spot for stargazing, and bird enthusiasts can enjoy the wide variety of birds that can be seen on the farm.
