Perfect getaway to unwind in nature and attention to small details. After an unpleasant experience at another location in Stellenbosch, I purposely looked for a female host this time as a solo woman who travels a lot for both work and leisure all over the world. I cannot praise Oaks Cottages enough; it was exactly what I needed. Attention to detail is there and beyond. I felt extremely safe and not intruded upon. Both check-in and check-out were simple and pleasant. The host was fantastic and made you feel welcome and friendly. The location is perfect with plenty around to do, not that you'll want to leave the pool or hot tub. It's a nice simple 30-minute drive to Hermanus, avoiding that Friday traffic into Hermanus after a long day. This is the perfect getaway to enjoy nature and recharge, or a lovely romantic getaway under the stars or girls' weekend. The size of the hot tub was perfect and more spacious than some places. It's also very clean with a beautiful plunge pool. I will definitely keep this gem on my list of places to revisit. The hostess has put a lot of effort into those small details that matter. Great for both international tourists and locals or the solo traveller. You can unwind and feel perfectly safe in nature, including solo women travelling on their own. You will not be bothered or disturbed here, where you can relax and unwind in nature. Everything you want is there, with the bathroom situation across the kitchen away from the bedroom offering privacy and not encroaching on the bedroom with steam or odour like most en suite bathrooms would. Pictures are also a true representation of what to expect, so you don't feel conned. What you see is what you get, with a complimentary bottle of wine to enjoy.

Bliss. Rustic, peaceful surroundings. Majestic views. Cottage fully kitted out with all necessities. Enjoyed our getaway weekend, especially the hot tub. Will definitely recommend to family and friends. However, there is a definite need for a connecting door between the toilet/bathroom and kitchen, to ensure and maintain one's privacy while using ablution facilities.
