The only reason I would not give it a 5 star is the settlements just outside Marina Martinique - it was a shock and concern to me when we arrived, riding through this area, even though we had nothing to be concerned about. This I think could make people uncomfortable coming to Marina Martinique. "

"When reading about Nieu-Bethesda the Owl House comes up as being the prime attraction. However the other attractions such as the Fossil Museum, the brewery and bookshop are much more interesting. The food at The Ibis Lounge is great and deserves to be mentioned in a write-up about the town. As a birder I found birding in and around Nieu-Bethesda was also very good. When travelling on the Owl Route from Graaff-Reinet I saw a number of interesting birds."

"Lekker dorp, met swemstrande en lekker restaurante. Ek kon elke dag gaan draf en veilig voel. Dis ook nie te ver nie dan kan mens die 3 Susters gaan kyk, of na Kenton on Sea toe gaan. Als wat mens nodig het is daar - selfs 'n roomyswinkel by die strand!"

"This was our first visit to Graaff-Reinet but will definitely visit again. Make a point to visit the beautiful Groote Kerk in the town and also the Valley of Desolation in the Camdeboo National Park. Sadly Graaff-Reinet is in the midst of a huge drought, but they still welcome visitors."
