Description
Ideal for up to 8 people, but can be booked for 2 people or more. The 4 rooms are either furnished with a king-size or three-quarter beds. 2 of the rooms have full en-suite bathrooms fitted with a bath, shower, washbasin and toilet. The remaining 2 bedrooms share a full family bathroom, also fitted with a bath, shower, washbasin and toilet. The entire River Lodge is powered by solar and gas, the kitchen is equipped with a stove and fridge-freezer. This self-catering lodge is fully equipped with all required crockery, cutlery, pots and pans. The open plan dining room and large lounge has an indoor fireplace, with this space opening onto a vast verandah overlooking the braai facilities and splash pool. Here you can relax and recharge taking in the beautiful Karoo landscape, while you read your book, plan your walk, or Mountain bike ride or simply watch the varied birdlife and animals . The establishment is pet-friendly, but guests are requested to ensure dogs are kept under supervision while walking.
The establishment charges an extra charge of R200 per pet.
The accommodation opens up into the veld, there is no fenced-in area. There are resident troops of baboons which are potentially dangerous to dogs.
Please note that there is a gravel road of 45 km leading to the establishment. Guests are required to enquire about the condition of the road, before arrival, as it could be subject to change due to unforeseen circumstances.
Please note that Wi-Fi is not available in the room however, should guests wish to connect, Wi-Fi is available in the reception office area and may be used during office hours.

The entire Mountain Lodge is powered by solar and gas, the kitchen is equipped with a stove and fridge-freezer. The open plan dining room and lounge has a central indoor fireplace that warms the whole lodge . This room opens via wooden stacking doors onto a verandah, splash pool and outside boma and braai area. Relax on the comfortable daybeds or unwind in the hanging chairs as you look out over the dam, watching the birds and ducks and look out past a windmill over the vast Karoo landscape.
