Enjoyed the stay. The room was clean and comfortable. Nothing was lacking. The host was welcoming and friendly. A bit strange to sacrifice cupboard shelf space for a bar fridge and microwave. The backyard was full of leaves. Hiking is more bundu bashing as the trail is not maintained. But the wine made up for it. A beautiful old-style bathroom in which the ultra-modern shower was totally out of place (not in any photo).

Dear guests It helps us to hear about perceptions and viewpoints about our rooms. Your review is informative and constructive and that is what we are aiming at. So thank you very much. The microwave and bar fridge in the large wardrobe is a compromise for the star grading assessment, which doesn't like visible fridges. Furthermore, the space was big enough to hide those. The unusually modern shower came in after being asked by guests to please fit in a shower in addition to the bathtub. Soon I have to have newer pictures made to show all the changes we have made since the last ones. My apologies for the leaves. Bamboo produces lots of them, but I love bamboo for shade and view. The hiking trail is rustic, and since I cannot walk myself anymore, it is obviously overgrown as only a few people actually use it. Thank you for letting me know. I hope we will have some time to cut a path through the overgrown bush soon. Thank you for your constructive criticism. We enjoyed your company. Rolf (owner)

Great accommodation, neglected surroundings. The accommodation itself was very nice and clean. One can see the person looking after it really cares. However, the surroundings are badly rundown and need lots of TLC. The farmyard looks neglected and seems to be more of a storage space than anything else. At least the pool was nice and clean.

Dear Philip, It was a pleasure to have you here, and we are glad you liked the room. The yard you are mentioning is indeed our storage space for building material and farm equipment. We cleared space to plant a vegetable garden, and all material, bricks, and poles had to move to the fringe. My apologies if it did not look as organized as it should. It is, after all, a working farm, and repair material must be at hand and not too far away, so our dogs protect the area as well. With kind regards, Rolf

Excellent farm stay, comfortable rooms, great value for money. Really enjoyed our stay, the venue is lovely and well-priced. One thing that needs attention is the mosquitoes in the room. We stayed here last year at the same time and had the same issue. It made the nights very unpleasant. Rooms need to be kept closed or other measures taken.

Rustig en gemaklik. Dit was warm in Wellington en dit was dus belangrik dat die temperatuur regulering reg was. Dit was voldoende. Ons het volkome “at home” gevoel.

Die plek kort baie aandag, kan sien dit gaan agteruit, baie stil plek. Ons was net een aand daar, sal nie sommer weer daar wil boek nie, nie vir die prys nie, het al baie beter gekry. Maar ek net dankie vir Margret vir wys van ons eenheid.

Hopeloos te duur om in 'n melkstal te slaap. Nee glad nie, te duur en geen privaatheid, baie vuil stof van die balke en beddegoed. Gasheer ook hopeloos te veel in ons geselskap en die honde en voëls (papegaaie) was ondraagbaar. Restaurant was puik!

Dear guest, Thank you for your review. Unfortunately, you only arrived in the late evening for a single night stay, thus did not experience the beauty of Oude Wellington's old (1795) original thatched farmhouse. In defence of my cleaning ladies' work, they thoroughly and diligently take specific attention to the faster dusting of our visible thatch roofs. They are both beautiful and natural, but cause more dusting and cleaning. Our ladies take pride in their work. We do have rooms with more standard ceilings for sensitive guests. I must have missed the line between answering your questions and offering advice that you felt uncomfortable. My apologies for that. I should have noticed the hurry you were in. But I am glad you enjoyed the restaurant and the birds being a big bird owner yourself. Please do return and enjoy a room further away from the aviary and insist on the standard ceiling room in the henhouse. With kind regards, Rolf (owner)
