A fun place to stay where the host quickly establishes a rapport. You end up feeling. This is the perfect place to break your journey if travelling from Johannesburg to the East Cape coast. The Purple House and the hosts are friendly, interesting, genuinely concerned about your comfort and inviting. This is no cookie-cutter B&B. It is unique and has the best pillows of any guesthouse I have stayed in.

Huislik en ontspanne. Verblyf was heerlik en baie huislik. Mens kan nie help om deur Johan se vriendelikheid en gemak welkom te voel nie.

Oornag saam met eggenoot en volwasse kinders op pad huis toe. Warm stort met goeie waterdruk. Goeie matrasse en kussings. Skoon en goeie linne.

A quirky, comfortable, peaceful stay. A lovely little gem for weary travellers. Johann was very hospitable and made us feel at home. The meals were superb and the accommodation was very comfortable with everything that we needed after a long day on the road. Johann's artwork made for interesting conversation. Would definitely be going back should we travel that route again.

Charming, safe, quiet and warm in the very cold Free State winter! A perfect overnight in a charming, off the beaten track destination. Johann is an excellent and friendly host, happy to provide a home-cooked meal on request (very handy, because Smithfield doesn't have many meal options) and solid travel tips. It's safe, quiet and has everything you need.

Quirky, purple home away from home. Johann has put together a comfortable, casual and arty space where you can relax after a long day's drive. We stayed in The Gallery room and enjoyed the luxury bedding and the aircon. His hands-on approach means you can ask for anything and it'll appear; we were waited on hand and foot. The town is quiet and an ideal stopover between the Eastern Cape and Gauteng. P.S. Johann's steak is superb - take the dinner!

5 ster oornag akkommodasie. Perfek vir oornag oppad Kaap toe. Ingerig en skoon. Kan ontbyt of aandete / beide kry op aanvraag, baie gerieflik as julle net oornag. Skoon en netjiese goed ingerigte kamers met aircon / waaiers. Beveel dit aan en sal self weer van Johan gebruikmaak.
