Great trip. We booked out the whole lodge for our team Christmas incentive and it was perfect - the rooms were super clean and large and the braai facilities were amazing. We'll definitely be back.

Lekker rustig en verwyder van die besige vakansieganger areas. Was perfek. Ons het lekker gebly by Tortoise Trail. Was maklik om te kry en baie veilig.

The pool was dirty and small. There were spiders and webs galore. Four beds for two people? Not proper. We just needed to sleep. That's all. Nothing special about the place.

Upon arrival, it appeared that the guests were expecting a resort-style experience. Our accommodation, however, is intentionally rustic and farm-style. The loft area with single beds is designed for children aged 12–18 and is not suitable for adult guests. We offer a small splash pool, not a full-size swimming pool, as clearly stated in the description. The pool was clean and the water clear. Due to our West Coast location, natural elements such as a few leaves or sand may occasionally be blown in by the wind, which does not indicate poor maintenance. We are a strictly non-smoking establishment. Smoking is not permitted inside rooms or bathrooms, and is only allowed in the designated outdoor braai area, if at all. Unfortunately, this rule was not followed. As a result, we were required to arrange professional deep cleaning of both rooms to remove cigarette smoke odours. This process took over a week and involved additional costs to clean bedding, curtains, furniture, mattresses, pillows, and duvets to ensure a fresh environment for subsequent guests. Our guesthouse is located within an equestrian estate surrounded by open fields, including one directly in front of the property. As such, insects and spiders are part of the natural environment and unavoidable. We have been operating the guesthouse for eight years and strive to provide a peaceful, respectful environment for all guests. While the vast majority of our guests appreciate and respect our setting and house rules, this stay unfortunately did not align with the type of experience we offer.

We had a good Saturday, away from the busy city. Tortoise Trail is peaceful and relaxing. I'll do this again; very nice holiday accommodation.

Awesome stay at this peaceful and beautiful little gem! We took one night break from the busy Cape Town to recharge and Tortoise Trail did not disappoint. It was so peaceful and we loved the relaxing atmosphere and felt very safe. The place was very neat and clean and our room was spotless. Our host is a very friendly and kind young man. Perfectly situated near the mall, Mykonos, the beach, great restaurants and other activities, but the lodge itself is so peaceful and far away from the noise. Looking forward to our next recharge session fairly soon.
