Baie lekker plek vir 'n ontspanne tyd. Ons het ’n ongelooflike naweek by Woodland Gardens gehad! Die atmosfeer was ongelooflik ontspanne en dit was die perfekte wegbreek. Ons honde het dit vreeslik geniet om vry rond te hardloop in die veilige, omheinde tuin, wat vir ons gemoedsrus gegee het.

Ons het ons verblyf by Woodland Gardens baie geniet. Die akkommodasie was gemaklik en netjies, en die algehele atmosfeer was rustig en ontspannend. Wat vir ons die meeste uitgestaan het, is dat elke eenheid heeltemal omhein is. Dit het ons groot gemoedsrus gegee om te weet ons honde is veilig en kan nie weghardloop nie. Hulle het dit absoluut geniet om vrylik in hul eie veilige area rond te hardloop en speel. Dit het die verblyf stresvry vir ons en pret vir hulle gemaak. Ons sal Woodland Gardens beslis aanbeveel vir enigiemand wat met troeteldiere reis.

Lovely gardens, but a dirty chalet and constant swarms of flies. Our stay at Woodland Gardens was quite the mixed bag, but overall a negative experience. First, the positives: (1) The gardens are really lovely, and having such a big garden dedicated to our chalet and for our dogs to explore was amazing. Similarly, walking to the lookout spot and to the wooded area nearby was very nice and peaceful. (2) The hosts are great. Lorraine is very good with communication, and Joe was very friendly and helpful meeting us when we checked in and checked out. Now for the negatives: (1) The chalet we stayed in (Loerie) was only superficially clean. While dogs are not allowed on the furniture, it was clear that previous visitors' dogs had done exactly that and the furniture had not been effectively cleaned. The surfaces also have a layer of filth not immediately visible: try walking across the floors barefoot or in white socks, and it becomes apparent. My wife wiped down the coffee table (and, subsequently, the bedside tables), and the cloth she used turned brown. The place is in desperate need of a deep and thorough cleaning. (2) We were absolutely mobbed by flies during our stay there. With all the animals, some flies are naturally to be expected, but at any given time there were probably 1-2 dozen flies inside the chalet, and on the one day we had a braai, there were literally hundreds of flies that sat on the outside of the chalet. Clearly, there has been no real attempt to control the flies, e.g., liquid fly traps set up away from the chalets to draw the flies away, better cleaning up after the animals (there are plenty of dog droppings just left in the chalet garden and surroundings, which obviously draw flies to the chalet), or even spraying chemicals to help control them. The two fly ribbons that were put up in the bedroom are both gross and grossly insufficient. The fly issue meant the stay was actually more stressful than relaxing, as we were constantly having to shoo flies away and couldn't turn our backs on any food or drinks for even a moment. We couldn't even enjoy our braai outside; instead, I ended up running back and forth through the chalet door, desperately hoping that the hundreds of flies on the outside wall didn't decide to swarm inside with me. In summary: we really wanted to enjoy our stay, but in retrospect it would have been more restful (and obviously cheaper) to just stay home.

Great place to go with pets for a short break. Close to Magalies and Meander. Perfect for my needs and a great place for a group of friends. Individual units (private) with their own enclosed garden, perfect for pets, own braai and bonfire pit. Communal pool and braai area and sundowner deck. You can hear traffic on the main route and trains passing in the evening, but it is not too disruptive.
