Convenient, but lacked cleanliness and was too sparse. Alkira is perfectly situated just off the N1, so it is an excellent location to break long drives! The setup looked great from the outside, and the property has great potential. We were also allowed to take our 2 fur babies, which was a great blessing. We were just very disappointed with the lack of service and, once inside the room, the lack of cleanliness and preparedness. After a long, hot 10-hour drive, it was disappointing to not have everything clean, fresh, and ready. The lady who opened up for us was very casual and almost looked like she had just woken up from an afternoon sleep. Inside, the 2 single beds only had winter fitted sheets and a quilt, even though it was hot. There were also no towels for these beds, only 2 towels on the queen bed, even though we booked as a family of 4. The bin in the bathroom still had rubbish inside, probably left from the previous guests, and the kitchen lacked crockery and cutlery for a family of 4. There also were not enough glasses and mugs. Some of the kitchen crockery was also a little grubby. There was no sponge or washing up soap anywhere either, so I couldn't even wash them clean myself. It is a pity, as Alkira has great potential and could be excellent accommodation. Overall, what we saw in the photos did not match our actual stay and experience. Hopefully, the owner can take on board the relevant suggestions and get this place running seamlessly and well!

Aanvaarbaar vir een nag. Dit was aanvaarbaar vir die paar uur wat ek daar was, maar daar was eerstens nie enige warm water in die badkamer nie. Die yskas het 'n verskriklike reuk gehad wanneer mens dit oopmaak, en die ketel was aangekoek in die bodem. Andersins het ek geen klagtes nie. Die kamer was baie oulik uitgelê vir 'n enkel persoon.

Thank you for your feedback. This incident occurred after I sold the guesthouse, and the new team had just brought in new housekeeping staff, which led to the oversight. I’ve shared your comments with the new owner, and the issue has already been corrected. I stayed for two nights and the location is perfect except for the conditions. The location of the place was perfect although the rooms were not tidy, with some of the bedding materials having spots or smudges. Under one bed, there were old shoes left there.
