Baie gerieflike kamer met kwaliteit beddens. Skoon en netjies en 'n goeie gasheer wat persoonlik na gaste omsien. Goeie ontbyt. Darling is 'n klein dorpie wat te voet verken kan word. Daar is nie lugversorger nie, maar 'n waaier en koel kamers heel gemaklik.

Overall a pleasant stay.

Friendly greeting, nice garden area to relax. Breakfast was excellent. Your website says Secure Parking - Off Street Parking - this is misleading as there is only parking for a few cars - first come first serve! We had to park in the street and hope that the car was not broken into.

Thank you very much for staying with us and for your helpful review. We apologise for the unclear information on our website and we will be adjusting the wording accordingly. The Darling Lodge Guest House provides 4 off-street parking spaces and ample street parking right in front of the house (we also park our private car in the street). In over 10 years, we haven't witnessed any issues with damage or theft, thanks to the local neighbourhood watch, including surveillance cameras and armed security patrols (as a general rule, nothing of value should be left visible in the car).

A delightful Victorian oasis, delicious homemade breakfast and charming hosts.

Properly hot showers, electric blankets - a hit with the teens, foot-and-claw-baths, to-die-for jams and marmalade made by the owners, lavender and locally-made toffees on the pillow, modest room prices, beautiful gardens, all set in a peaceful, safe, full-of-treasures village. Thank you Stephan and Oliver for your hospitality and recommendations. I'll return the favour and recommend Darling Lodge unreservedly.

Really enjoyed our time at Darling Guest House, peaceful and gorgeous!

Beautiful old Victorian house in a lovely condition with a garden that gives you an instant sense of peace and tranquillity. In summer, I am sure the swimming pool is well used as it looked so inviting. The rooms were clean and very comfortable. Brilliant service and the breakfast was delicious!

An absolutely beautifully clean, pretty, central lodge.

Thank you, a gorgeous town to visit. The Evita Perron Museum, restaurant and theatre are a must We were so well looked after, had a delicious breakfast, sat at the exquisite pool under the shade, listened to the bird calls, and walked into town for any early dinner, recommended by Stephan. We will definitely return and recommend this haven to all our friends. Darling has so much to offer, one needs at least two days and two nights there to experience it all. We missed Evita Perron's show, and also missed out on the lodge's open-air movie night.

Pleasant and peaceful.

Comfortable and clean accommodation, although room did not have a mini fridge with water. Which is a standard logic. Breakfast was disappointing. Quality and quantity thereof. But venue is lively, pool was refreshing.

We are very sorry to read that the breakfast - full English cooked breakfast plus buffet with fresh fruit salad, cheese platter, 3 sorts of cereals, a variety of yoghurts, sweets, toast, tea, fresh grinded coffee, fruit juice, almonds, prunes, dates - was a disappointment.
It is our room-standard to offer all guests a free bottle (500ml) of still water plus rusks, tea, coffee and a sweet treat. All our guests booked in Standard are very welcome to use the shared fridge in our guest lounge.
We do appreciate your valued feedback and will add your advise to our "to deal with and think about" list.

Lovely and elegant style.

We were welcomed with warm hearts. The rooms are styled with a perfect touch. We had a full English Breakfast and buffet, it was very delicious. If you want to be treated like royalty, go there. That was our second visit. Will definitely go there again.

Pragtige tuin, swembad en kamer.

Die gashere was baie vriendelik, inklok-proses was vinnig en die kamer netjies en goed toegerus. Die bed was gemaklik en skoon. Ontbyt was heerlik, veral die tuisgemaakte aarbei konfyt en lemoen marmalade. Beslis die moeite werd.

Perfect spot to stay in Darling

Stefan and Oliver were wonderful and helpful hosts. The rooms are comfortable, interesting and tasteful. And the grounds are lovely. I doubt one can find better smack in the middle of town.

Fantasties, skoon en sentraal.

Ons verblyf by Darling Lodge was regtig lekker. Die kamers is baie mooi ingerig en skoon met veilige parkering. Bed het heerlik geslaap en ontbyt was heerlik. Ons sal beslis weer daar gaan bly.
