Description

Weaver is a secluded campsite that can accommodate 4 guests and is nestled among large Wild Seringa and Bush Willow trees, designed specifically for overnight guests. The site blends seamlessly into the surrounding bush, with no fences, allowing Matamba’s wildlife to roam freely nearby for a truly immersive camping experience. Each campsite features its own fireplace, braai grid, water tap, and an electrical point. A short winding path through the woodland leads to a shared, open-air bathroom built around a large tree, with natural rock floors and a gas geyser for hot water. Guests can also enjoy an outdoor shower under indigenous trees, offering a unique experience beneath the African sun, stars, or a silver moon, sometimes under the watchful eye of nearby giraffes. A brief walk from the bathroom brings guests to the shared kitchen and wash-up area, which includes sinks, a chest freezer with ice for purchase, Wi-Fi, tables, chairs, and an information area for sharing travel experiences. Weaver also has a small splash pool in the woodland below the campsite, surrounded by lawn and wooden loungers. A rustic fence keeps animals and small children out, while the pool’s martini seat provides a perfect spot to relax, cool off, and watch the sun set over the bush. Hard braai wood and ice are available for purchase on-site.

Description

Tau Camp is set in a beautiful open woodland where giraffe, eland, zebra, nyala, sable, kudu, and impala are commonly seen moving freely through the area. The camp covers 4 hectares, with campsites and facilities linked by winding paths through the bush. With no fences, wildlife is constantly in and around the camp, creating an authentic and immersive camping experience that blends naturally into the surrounding landscape. Tau offers 5 individual campsites named Francolin, Hornbill, Drongo, Oriole, and Kingfisher. Each site is spaced 150 to 200 metres apart, ensuring excellent privacy. Every site can accommodate either a couple or several families from the same group. Drongo Campsite specifically can accommodate 15 guests in total. All campsites are equipped with a fireplace and a braai grid. Each site also has a water tap and a power point for guests who wish to connect an extension lead. The camp features 4 distinctive and spotlessly clean bathrooms. The main thatched bathroom includes a shower, 2 toilets, and a plug point for hairdryers or charging devices. There is also an outside shower, a separate outside toilet, and a final bathroom with a thatched roof over the toilet and basin, paired with a beautiful open-air shower. An outdoor shower beneath the spreading branches of indigenous trees offers a memorable experience, whether showering in the warm African sun or under the stars and moon at night. A central kitchen and wash-up area provides 2 washing sinks, an information area, Wi-Fi access, and a table with chairs for guests who wish to relax and share travel stories. A small splash pool is located in the woodland below the campsite. It is enclosed by a rustic fence to keep animals and small children safe. All bathrooms and the kitchen are fitted with gas geysers to ensure an endless supply of hot water. The five campsites share the bathrooms, splash pool, and kitchen facilities.

Description

MARA’S is our private and exclusive campsite which can only be booked and accessed by one group at a time. It’s situated in the middle of the farm in a beautiful thick woodland with lovely tall shady trees. The campsite is unfenced and wonderfully wild with birds flitting around in the trees and curious game wandering in and around it. Built to be eco-friendly, all natural materials have been used so it blends in perfectly with the surrounding woodland. There is no power at the site, it comes with all the luxury of two lovely family bathrooms with endless hot water (from gas geysers) and proper flush toilets. Both bathrooms are very spacious, and stunningly designed around huge trees. The shower floors are large rocks surrounded by concrete and pebble detail. Latte benches and hooks allow plenty of space to put belongings. There is a large fireplace and braai grid is situated in the middle of the campsite. It is a wonderful place to sit, around a roaring fire looking up at the stars, and enjoying the sounds of the bush. The washing up area is set to one side in a group of small trees, and has cold water only, but a steel bucket is supplied to put round the fire to heat the washing water. Kibu hide, a wooden viewing deck built into a huge wild Syringa tree that overlooks Zebra plain and a small waterhole, is situated just above the camp and a few minutes walk. It is a great place for morning tea and a rusk, or sipping on a sundowner. Braai wood and ice are available to purchase on-site.
