Peaceful, relaxing, cool and sensational. We had an absolutely amazing stay at Melkhout Woud Sprokieshuis. From the moment we arrived, the peaceful atmosphere took us far away from the noise and rush of the city. The place truly brings a sense of calm and relaxation. A special mention to the wonderful owner, whose warmth and hospitality made our experience even better. You can see the care and love put into every detail of the property. We also loved the new inside braai feature, perfect for cosy evenings and the warm hot tub, which was the highlight of our stay. Highly recommended for anyone needing a peaceful escape!

Magical stay close to the beach. We enjoyed staying at Melkhout Woud Sprokieshuis - a wooden double story home offering serenity and privacy in Van Dyk's Baai with amenities truly worthy of 5*. The newly installed hot tub provides such relaxation ahead of bedtime. The trees in the yard give a forest feel to the experience. The property doesn't receive a lot of sunlight - something to be mindful of.

Romantic, comfortable and amazing. It was beautiful especially in terms of decor, the atmosphere and amenities. We could have lived there! Only improvement would be inside parking.

A haven in Gansbaai. We were in Gansbaai for the shark diving and the proximity was perfect. The area was safe and peaceful with good access to amenities. It was a home from home and the beds were very comfortable with great pillows too. We loved the Milkwood forest and balconies and the fact we could bring our dog and stay later on Sunday to explore the area a bit more. My only concern was I thought there were 3 bedrooms as the ad stated it slept 7 and my elderly mom had to sleep on a couch as she couldn't sleep upstairs. In hindsight, I should have double checked.

Hi Stephanie, Thank you for visiting our place and for the great rating and kind words. I am sorry to hear your mum had to sleep on the couch; that is horrible! Our intention for having so much sleeping space is to make an affordable rental for families who don't mind sharing the space. Our son, for example, celebrated his 18th birthday with his friends, and they all shacked up in the same loft, and they loved all being together in one place. I do realise though that this is not for everyone. I have reduced the number of guests to a maximum of 5 to be more reflective of the space. I tried to do it previously but got pushback from some guests, but I think you are right on this. Perhaps we can change the configuration in the future to only have single beds in the loft if we want to cater for more. Thanks again for being open with us about this; our reputation is everything to us, and we want our guests to have a full experience without concerns.
