Dissapointed when host changed my booking to suit her needs. I had a few problems with this stay. My first issue was when I drove into the area. I never realised the area was very much a student-type area: very noisy, shouting, loads of walkers, etc. So bringing a family, all girls, into this area would not have happened if I had been here before. The second issue was that the host decided to change our room. Being a family of 5, we booked two rooms. I specifically chose a room above and under one another and around the pool, as the 4-sleeper was above and the 2-sleeper below. The intention was to have my wife stay with the girls in the 4-sleeper and myself on my own just below. We love spending time together as a family, so by being close we could “visit” each other. However, the host thought it better to send my kids to the other side of the house and tried to get my wife and me to stay together by the pool. My girls are all under 14 years old. I was actually taken aback by this silly suggestion, and also by the fact that she had moved our rooms apart so we could no longer just go up or down for a visit, but had to walk to the other side of the property. Thirdly, the room that they moved my kids and wife into was next to a very noisy outside neighbour, and this room took the full brunt of the noisy area. They could not sleep at all. If it had not been for the host splitting our rooms so far apart and changing my booking to accommodate her needs, I would have perhaps accepted the slightly dodgy area. However, the repercussion from the change led to sleepless nights for my kids and wife as they lay awake listening to screams, sirens, and loud music.

Dear Vaughn, My apologies for your disappointment. However, I feel that I need to address your complaint as you did not say anything to me when I proposed changing your booking from family room no 4 to unit rooms 10 and 11 for your kids. The reason why I changed this was to afford them the opportunity to each have their own bed instead of sharing 2 double beds since they took part in a sports tournament. So I honestly thought this was benefiting you - not us. The original room that you booked for your kids was not facing the front of the guesthouse but also the back even though it looks the same as the room that you originally wanted to book - that was not available. If your query had stated that you wanted to book 2 rooms facing the pool area, I would have told you that we do not have any availability. You booked a room for 2 adults and a room for 3 children, so I assumed that you did not have a problem with your children staying on their own. The area is a student area, yes - as is all of Universitas within 3 km from the UFS - where the majority of your matches took place. There was an event at the FS stadium this particular weekend as well as the Mimosa Marathon that ran through the neighbourhood from early Saturday morning. All of us in the neighbourhood of Universitas were subjected to this noise and the situation was greatly out of our control as these events were partly why some other guests stayed in the area during that weekend. My apologies once again that this affected your stay.

Heerlike ontspannende omgewing. Heerlik gerus oppad van die Kaap. Lieflike ontbyt voordat ons verder gery het. Gasvrou gaan uit haar pad om almal te akkommodeer. Sal vir seker weer daar oornag.

Gasvry, vriendelik en behulpsaam. Ansie is die vriendelikste gasvrou! Ons was vroeg en ons kon inboek sonder enige moeite. Die heerlikste ontbyt. Vriendelike personeel. Beveel hulle definitief aan vir verblyf.
