Wow, thank you so much for this wonderful review! Reviews like yours genuinely make every effort worthwhile. We're so glad the location worked perfectly for you and that we could make sure everything was taken care of during your stay — that's exactly what we aim for. We'd love to welcome you back to 23 Ambleside Retreat anytime. And if you're looking for a winter escape, we've just added a heat pump to the main house — warm and cosy no matter what the weather does! Thank you again for recommending us — it means the world.

Serene and safe. We stayed in the main house, which was lovely. Clean and spacious with a well-equipped kitchen. The beach is just a short walk away. Very friendly host, and the kids loved the dogs.

Fiona, thank you so much for this lovely review — it was such a pleasure having your family stay with us! We're so glad the main house felt spacious and comfortable, and that the kitchen had everything you needed. And the kids and the dogs — honestly, that's the best thing to hear! Those little moments are what make hosting so special. The beach being a short walk away is one of our favourite things about 23 Ambleside too — there's nothing quite like it. We'd absolutely love to welcome your family back. If you're thinking about the July school holidays, we've just added a heat pump to the main house — so those winter nights will be even cosier than your April visit! Hope to see you all again soon!

A great place to relax. The cottage I booked was small and there is not really a kitchen (i.e. no sink to wash dishes), but I was on my own and did not mind. I really enjoyed the close proximity to the beach and the owner was very friendly, a lovely lady. I felt safe walking to the beach on my own and the beach was fantastic, not busy.

Dear Elizabeth, Thank you so much for your wonderful 5-star review! I am so glad you had a relaxing stay and felt right at home. It is especially heartening to hear that you felt safe and comfortable walking to our beach alone—we agree, it’s a hidden gem and we love that it stays peaceful and uncrowded! Regarding the cottage, thank you for mentioning our 'Heat & Eat' setup; we find that many of our solo travellers appreciate the simplicity, especially since we take care of all the dishwashing for you! It was a true pleasure meeting you, and I’m so glad I could help make your stay special. We would love to welcome you back for another quiet retreat by the sea whenever you need to recharge.

Thank you so much for this absolutely lovely review! "Tranquil" is exactly what we aim for, and we are thrilled you felt that way.
