Beautiful guest house, but all the do's and don'ts felt too restrictive. The place is beautiful and the rooms were well styled, comfortable and luxurious. We only stayed for 1 night, during a family trip from Cape Town down the Garden Route to PE and flying back to Cape Town. However, after staying in various similar guest houses along the route, we found it to be the least welcoming of them all. Before arriving, we had received a number of communications detailing lists of do's and don'ts connected with the guest house, making it feel very restrictive and unwelcoming. The final straw was the 'do not pack' notices on the shampoo and bath gel in the bathrooms. For an upmarket guest house, it was rather tacky.

We’re sorry, however, that our communication felt restrictive to you. The information shared prior to arrival is the same we provide to all guests and is intended simply to ensure a smooth and comfortable stay. As this was a group booking with a short stay, we also reached out in advance to check whether you were celebrating a special occasion or had any specific requests so that we could prepare accordingly and avoid any last-minute disappointment. Regarding the in-room notices, these are in place because our refillable amenities are occasionally mistaken for complimentary takeaway items. The intention is purely practical, though we appreciate your perspective and will review how this is communicated. Thank you again for your stay and for taking the time to share your experience.
