Our stay at the guesthouse was comfortable and enjoyable. We had a pleasant stay at this guesthouse. The rooms were neat and clean, creating a comfortable environment. The staff were friendly and accommodating, which made the experience welcoming and enjoyable. The only drawback was that parking was limited, which could be inconvenient for guests with vehicles. Overall, it’s a well-kept and hospitable place, ideal for those who value cleanliness and good service.

Just okay. No clear instructions were given to us on the use of the house. We thought there was no kitchen, but there was one downstairs. The door was left open all night upstairs, which was very concerning.

Hello, Mrs Tryphena. Thank you for your review. We will work on cleaning, and the room you were in is a big room, with the bathroom side on the other side, which is private. It is designed like that; there is no need for the door. As for the spoon, we apologise for that. Lastly, regarding the water issue, we only found out later because it was during the afternoon when we were done with our chores. We had to ask our neighbours; they said they had a burst at their homestead, and the municipality had to cut off the water for just a few minutes. It was not our fault; we do not have any water issues here.

Terrible and dissapointing. I have to give one star, but honestly, this place deserves zero. From the moment we arrived, it was a disaster. The host initially told us we didn’t have a booking and that we were meant to arrive the following night. We had to prove, using our booking confirmation from the website, that we were in fact there on the correct date. Our fellow travellers were in Room 10, and that room was completely unacceptable. They got stuck inside because the key didn’t work properly. The only way to open the door was for someone to push the key under the door so it could be unlocked from the outside. That is a serious safety concern. We stayed in Room 12. There were no towels provided, and we were simply told it was “because of the weather.” For two guests, there was only one sachet of coffee. The cups were chipped. There is no door between the bedroom and the bathroom, and to make matters worse, the balcony of Room 10 allows direct visibility into the bathroom of Room 12. The window is clear glass, and the blind is broken, so there is no privacy at all. The room was infested with cockroaches. We killed at least 20—both large and small. It was unhygienic and completely unacceptable. The notice behind the door states, “This is not a brothel, no prostitutes allowed,” yet there were guests coming and going throughout the night. Make of that what you will. When we left, it was raining, and the stairs were extremely slippery. I slipped and got hurt quite badly—there are clear safety issues that need attention. To top it off, we had to wake the host at 9 am to let us out. She came out yawning, dressed in inappropriate sleepwear, which just added to the overall unprofessional experience. Lastly, this property should not be listed under Bloubergstrand—it is not located there. I would not recommend this place to anyone.
